A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BARTENDER AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK

You will be natural communicator able to deal with the presure of running a busy operation in our Chapter House Bar.

What you'll be doing ...

Reporting to the Head of Food and Beverage, you can expect your typical working day to include:

• To responsible for the set up of the Chapter House Bar, to ensure that you and your team are ready for service.
• Ensure the cleaniness of the Chapter House Bar, and Food and Beverage areas.
• Serving drinks in the Chapter House Bar - including table service to give the best experience to our guests.
• Be knowledgable on our cocktail, beer, wine and bar food menus, to enable to upsell to our guests.
• To have a good knowledge of different food service techniques to serve all food and drinks correctly and to the required standard.
• To assist with other Food and Beverage areas, and Conferencing and Events if required, during busy periods.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

You will be a team player, and strive for quality and perfection in every single beverage you deliver. You will be confident in running the overall service of the Bar, and be an individual who enjoys sharing, knowledge, pride and passion about the hospitality industry.

To succeed in the role of Bartender, you will need the following qualities and skills ...

• You attention to detail will be exquisite, ensuring that our drinks, service area and bar is at all time superb
• As an excellent communicator you will use your ability to creat memorable experiences for our guest, promoting the overall services of our venue, creating rapport with our regulars and new customers
• Experience of working a medium to large hotel, preferably within a bar team
• Experience of working within a customer focused role.
• Able to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings and weekends.
