Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Chef.
  • Understanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene, and food safety regulations.
  • Experience in a care home is desirable.

About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for experienced and passionate Bank Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care &supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?
  • Minimum 3years’ experience working as a Chef
  • Understanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene and Regulations surrounding food safety
  • IDDSI / Specialist diet provision experience (desirable)
  • Experience working in a care home (desirable)
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
What hours will you work?

10 hour shifts

What will you be doing?
  • Working closely alongside the Head Chef and kitchen staff to plan and prepare nutritious meals for residents
  • Ensure food is prepared in line with IDDSI guidelines and meets the requirements of the residents as identified by the clinical team
  • In the absence of the Head Chef visit all new residents and / or liaise with the Nurse to ensure all new admissions dietary needs are known
  • Listen to feedback from staff, resident and relatives about the food choices and quality and implement changes based on this

About The Company

Cornerstone Healthcare provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs. Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly. We currently have 3 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, & Mytchett with 2 new services set to open in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
