Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker is desirable but not essential.
  • Full training is provided.
  • Understanding of dementia is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal hygiene and dressing.
  • Support residents to dine and maintain good nutrition.
  • Encourage safe mobilisation with mobility aids.
  • Provide companionship and accompany residents on outings.
  • Maintain accurate written records.
  • Engage with other care professionals.
  • Welcome family members and assist with enquiries.

Overview

Bank Care Assistant role with shifts at 8:00 PM (and 8:00 AM where applicable). Based at Ashlands Care Home in Leicester, with several vacancies available. The home is designed to cater to residents with a range of physical and mental health conditions related to ageing, including those in the early and late stages of dementia.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene and dressing for the day or preparing for bed
  • Support residents to dine at mealtimes and maintain good nutrition and hydration
  • Encourage safe mobilisation around the home with mobility aids and specialist equipment
  • Provide friendship and companionship and accompany residents on social outings or appointments
  • Maintain accurate and timely written records and complete documentation
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team and engage with other care professionals to promote health and well-being
  • Welcome family members and assist with enquiries
What we're looking for
  • A genuine caring nature with a desire to make a real difference for residents
  • Prior experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker is desirable but not essential, as full training is provided
  • Patience, understanding, and respect for residents’ individual abilities
  • Many residents live with dementia; understanding of dementia is beneficial
