Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Romford is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join their Medicines Safety and Governance team. You will support the Medication Safety Programme and ensure high-quality clinical pharmacy services are delivered to patients. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a salary between £61,631 and £68,623 annually.

Job description

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist to join our Medicines Safety and Governance team. You will support the Medication Safety Programme, share learning from medication errors, and help to promote good governance across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support the local Medication Safety Programme and participate in medication safety and governance audits.
• Report and escalate identified issues concerning medicines governance; support the development of policies and guidelines.
• Share learning from reported medication incidents with pharmacy and other Trust staff.
• Deputise for the Medication Safety Officer and work closely with lead pharmacists, senior technicians, ICS colleagues and wider healthcare and corporate teams to apply improvement methodology to provide high quality, coordinated pharmaceutical care.
• Demonstrate high standard of oral and written communication; apply quality improvement methodology and discuss medication governance and safety issues with all levels of healthcare professionals.
• Have broad experience as a clinical pharmacist in a UK hospital setting and provide high quality clinical pharmacy services to patients.
• Deliver a portfolio of work within the Medication Safety Programme and support the clinical pharmacy service on wards as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential: Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice/Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification); Experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner; Extensive post-registration experience in a UK hospital in a wide range of clinical settings.
• Desirable: Pharmacist Independent Prescriber Qualification; Able to manage and sustain change.
