Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and innovative Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Youth First. The team is based at Ardenleigh Hospital site and includes multidisciplinary clinicians from Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Social Work. Youth First is part of the national NHS community forensic child and adolescent mental health service (FCAMHS) and covers the West Midlands region.

Responsibilities
  • Support the duty system and hold a small clinical caseload.
  • Contribute to service development, research and evaluation.
  • Participate in teaching and training, supervise trainees.
  • Embed quality improvement within the Secure Care Offender Health governance framework.
  • Work within a hybrid model with flexible working arrangements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in clinical/forensic psychology (including models of psychopathology, psychometric and neuropsychological assessment, at least two distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology).
  • Eligibility for entry onto the Register of Chartered Psychologists.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and individual and group based treatment across primary, secondary and community settings.
  • Experience working with forensic contexts and a wide range of presenting problems.
  • At least 2 years post qualification experience and formal training in supervision to independently supervise psychology trainees.
  • Well developed theoretical and practical knowledge of clinical psychology, including complex assessment methods.
Benefits

Band 8a.

Salary: £55,690 to £62,682 a year per annum, pro rata.

Contract: Fixed term, 12 months.

Working pattern: Part-time.
