Job description

Role:Locum Oncology Pharmacist
Banding:Band 7
Location: Sutton
Duration: January 2025 – March 2025
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern:Full-time, 37,5 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:30
Rate:Day: £34 – £39 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Pharmacist to join our team at Pulse AHP. The ideal candidate will have clinical hospital experience, preferably in oncology. Experience with clinical trials is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Screening prescriptions on clinical trials oncology wards. Providing pharmaceutical care to oncology patients. Ensuring the safe and effective use of medication. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care. Participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives. Educating and training healthcare staff on pharmaceutical practices. Managing and overseeing the supply of medicines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Master’s degree in pharmacy (or equivalent).
    • Post-graduate clinical pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
    • Significant experience in oncology & Clinical trials
  • Desirable:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to deliver complex information to patients and their relatives effectively.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development
    • Enthusiasm for training and developing other members of staff.

Training:

Training will be provided for the use of the electronic prescribing system, Chemo care.
