Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Neurology Epilepsy team at the RFH as Epilepsy Nurse Specialist. We are looking for a nurse who has experience of working with people with Epilepsy or experience in neurology, ideally having worked as a clinical nurse specialist; induction, training and support will be provided according to their level of experience. This is a fixed-term 12-month post to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert resource in Epilepsy by offering support, advice, and education.
  • Work closely with patients, carers, neurologists, GPs, the wider multidisciplinary team and stakeholders across secondary and primary care.
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics, provide phone advice, and manage ward referrals.
  • Be innovative and active in improving patient pathways.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with members of the team.
  • Work autonomously while being well supported and supervised within the role, with opportunities to develop management and service improvement skills.
