Job overview

Join us in beautiful East Sussex at Eastbourne District General Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 radiographer to join our expanding Department of Radiology at Eastbourne Hospital who is trained in CT.

This is a clinical role with an emphasis on General, AE and theatre/mobile work and CT scanning, so the right candidate will require relevant experience.

Previous experience working as a radiographer in the UK or working in a Radiology Department at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust will be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Provide a comprehensive 24‑hour, 365‑day a year service in General Radiography and CT scanning, working a variety of shifts to meet this commitment, including out‑of‑hours and night duties.

Operate a full range of General X‑ray equipment, fluoroscopy, theatres, mobile equipment, interventional equipment and GE CT Scanners (CT Revolution and GE Revolution Evo).

Supervise junior staff, conduct clinical audit, oversee vetting and justification, and act as an independent practitioner.

Support internal training in specialty modalities including Cardiac and Interventional Radiography and CT scanning, and external training in Medical Ultrasound, Radiographer reporting and Mammography.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of participation in all elements of Clinical Governance
  • Previous experience working in an imaging department providing a variety of imaging services to an advanced level of practice

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cat Lab
  • Evidence of supervisory experience within a complex clinical imaging environment
  • Evidence of staff training and mentoring
  • Staff and resource management experience
