Job description

The post holder would be expected to support a caseload of patients both in outpatient clinics, group education and MDT clinics. Specific patient groups include cow's milk protein, specific and non-specific allergy and Coeliac Disease. The post holder would also cover general Paediatric clinics across East Lancashire localities enabling to develop or keep skills in general paediatrics. The post holder would be expected to clinically supervise band 5 Rotational Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants. They would also be expected to support the Paediatric team leaders to continually develop and evolve the Paediatric Dietetic team/service as well as developing Paediatric Dietetics guidance, training and policies as required for the Trust.

The post holder would be expected to support the Paediatric allergy caseload. Experience in these areas would be desirable but not essential as training can be given. We are looking for a Dietitian with beneficial transferable skills. We will accept applications from Dietitians who do not have Paediatric experience as long as they have suitable previous clinical experience for the post and transferable Dietetic skills. The department offers all three Dietetic student training placements as well as Dietitian Apprenticeship training. The post holder will be expected to be involved in clinical teaching and assessment of Dietetic students on their placement so therefore previous student training experience is desirable. As we are a teaching hospital the post holder would also be expected to support medical, nursing and other health profession students as well.

East Lancashire has good transport links to Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and beyond and we are close to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The post holder would be expected to work across the sites and localities of East Lancashire so the post would suit a car driver/owner.
