Role: Locum Senior Pharmacy Technician ACT
Banding: Band 6
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 Months
Rate: £23 - £29 per hour
Working hours: Full-time

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will work closely with various service leads across the pharmacy departments, including the Operational Lead Technician, Specialised Pharmacy Teams, Clinical Lead Pharmacists, and Heads of Department. Your role will be crucial in the provision, management, and development of pharmacy services, as well as medication safety and governance services to the Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • You will collaborate with service leads to enhance pharmacy services.
  • You will manage and develop medication safety and governance services.
  • You will support the Operational Lead Technician and Specialised Pharmacy Teams.
  • You will work alongside Clinical Lead Pharmacists and Heads of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
    • Act trained.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration hospital pharmacy experience.
    • Previous experience in medicines optimisation and dispensary.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
