Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Elderly Care (Ward East 2a)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on East 2a. We are an inpatient ward, specialising in the HealthCare of Older People (HCOP). As part of our team, you will be welcomed into a supportive, collaborative environment where new ideas and personal development are supported and encouraged.
As a Band 6 Sister/Charge nurse on East 2a, you will play a pivotal role in the overall day to day running of the ward. You must be able to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, work well under pressure and adapt to any situation.
This is a full-time, permanent position making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills and management style. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly across a 7-day week, with a focus day shifts (11.5hrs, 7am-7:30pm).
Your duties will include but are not limited to.
Coordinating ward allocations.
Liaising with capacity managers to facilitate patient flow.
Support Ward Manager and junior staff members.
You will be familiar with systems such as "Red to Green" and "Clinical Dashboard".
You will support Senior Sister with management of staff. Such as, sickness management, appraisals, complaints, incident forms, and performance management. You will be allocated your own "team" to manage and supervise.
You will mentor student nurses and guide and support newly qualified nurse.
Attend MDT meetings.
Lead and guide the team.
Be "in charge" of the shift worked, with an overview of the ward at all times.
Complete Monthly Audits.
Deputise for Senior Sister in her absence.
