The Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) has a vacancy for a part‑time medical secretary to provide comprehensive, reliable and confidential secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and the clinical team.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a busy team providing a comprehensive secretarial service to Consultant Psychiatrists and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepare and take minutes of clinical team meetings and referral meetings.
  • Maintain a rolling programme of CPA case conferences and medical reviews.
  • Support the clinical team in ensuring KPIs are up to date.
  • Manage written documentation such as reports and letters.
  • Ensure that any correspondence from the Ministry of Justice and Mental Health Act Office is dealt with according to working practice as and when required.
  • Maintain diary management for the Consultant Psychiatrists.
  • Update patient and caseload records.
Qualifications
  • Possess a good general level of education with formal secretarial qualifications.
  • Experience of working in healthcare is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Good level of audio typing and medical terminology is required.
  • Knowledge of the Trust systems is desirable.
