Full-Time Band 3 Cook – Daisy Hill Hospital
We are currently recruiting a full-time Band 3 Cook to join the catering team at Daisy Hill Hospital.
Location: Daisy Hill Hospital
Position: Band 3 Cook (Full-Time)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (rota basis, including weekends and evenings)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook daily meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
Cater to a range of dietary requirements, including special diets.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following Environmental Health and HACCP guidelines.
Support the wider catering team in delivering an efficient and reliable service.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a cook in a professional kitchen (healthcare experience desirable).
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work shift patterns, including weekends.
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (or willingness to complete).

Qualifications/Registration:
NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent.
NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent plus 1 year’s experience as a cook.
3 years’ experience as a cook.
Level 2 Award in Food Safety or equivalent.
Willing to undertake Level 3 Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification.
