An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Clinical Trials Assistant to work with research staff on clinical research studies at all sites within West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (WHTH).
The appointment will be fixed term/secondment for one year in the first instance. The band will depend on research experience. This role will be Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with full details to be discussed upon appointment.
It will be a two-stage interview process. Stage 1 will include a 20-minute Microsoft Excel Task on Wednesday 14th January 2026 (please ensure you have Microsoft Excel and Teams loaded onto your workstation). The next stage will be an in-person interview on Friday 16th January 2026

The post holder will assist in supporting a portfolio of clinical research studies, from study set-up to archiving, in accordance with clinical trial protocols, local SOPs and all relevant regulatory standards.
The role will also collaborative working, with the post holder liaising between the R&D department and all members of the multidisciplinary team in order to assist with the conduct of research studies.
The R&D team work across specialities so the post holder will be given the opportunity to work within varied specialities to support research in those areas.
The post holder will provide the highest standards of patient care in line with research protocols and ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines, safeguarding the well‑being and safety of the patients and integrity of the data.

As a Clinical Trials Assistant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive research support, including (but not limited to) administrative tasks, data collection, and coordination of trials.
