Job summary

A prominent healthcare provider in the UK seeks a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join a collaborative pathology network. The role requires strong team collaboration, organizational skills, and significant bacteriology experience, particularly in NHS settings. Responsibilities include diagnosing and providing clinical services for hospitals and working within a busy lab environment at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of post-registration experience and relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years post registration experience.
• Experience working with complex, specialist equipment.
• Experience of Pathology IT systems.
• Experience working in an acute trust.
• Experience working in a busy bacteriology laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team of virology and bacteriology staff.
• Provide diagnostic and clinical services for hospitals.
• Manage laboratory services to GPs and other health providers.

Skills

Able to work as part of a team

Knowledge of Laboratory Health & Safety regulations

Good oral and written communication

Ability to work to SOPs

Ability to analyse and problem solve

Education

Biomedical Science Degree

IBMS post-graduate Specialist Diploma

Registered with HCPC
