A leading healthcare logistics provider in Stevenage is seeking a B Licence Driver to drive a 3.5T panel van for the delivery of fragile medical equipment. This permanent role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 2 years driving experience and a category B licence.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 45–55 hours per week. Start and finish times vary; total flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature. Overnight stays as required by planned duties.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities
  • Drive a 3.5T panel van fully fitted to carry fragile medical equipment.
  • Deliver, lock, load, and strap high‑end medical equipment as part of the white‑glove delivery service.
  • Assist sales members at exhibitions and customers’ requests whenever possible.
  • Ensure time‑critical deliveries are met.
  • Check correct items and quantities on deliveries and collections; report any issues or defects immediately.
  • Liaise directly with sales and office staff.
  • Follow a strict cleaning regime and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Scan items on delivery and collection using the FileMaker Drivers App to ensure stock traceability and integrity.
Accountability
  • Complete weekly vehicle checks as per company compliance rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of road safety and the Highway Code.
  • Show comprehensive driving background with technical experience in fragile transport and knowledge of lock‑and‑load ratchet systems.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is delivered and collected matching serial numbers and itemised lists safely, undamaged and on time.
Specialised Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum category B driver’s licence (ideally no more than 3 points).
  • Minimum 2 years driving experience.
  • Technical experience in fragile transport and knowledge of lock‑and‑load ratchet systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time‑management.

  • Good knowledge of strapping and securing loads for transit.
