What you'll bring to the team

AV Production Technician Location: THORPE PARK Resort, KT16 8PN Hours: Unsociable hours, evening and weekend work may be required. Full time and Part time hours available Salary: Competitive

We are seeking a highly skilled AV Production Technician, the successful candidate will play a key role in all aspects of the delivery of our award winning FRIGHT NIGHTS event. The role will be consistently challenging and varied with never a dull moment, from building large attractions to delivering innovative and ever-changing stage shows.

Responsibilities
  • To install attractions and continually troubleshoot faults or errors to maintain the highest standard for all attractions.
  • To upkeep show systems and equipment to ensure the delivery of high quality attractions, having a real focus on attention to detail.
  • To be involved in the delivery of any responses to briefs requested by the project or technical management team.
  • To supervise the daily start-up of all technical systems and safety checks to ensure high standards are maintained and any areas of risk are reported.
  • Ensuring all attractions and shows are meeting all health & safety standards by utilising daily checklists and regular inspections.
  • To work effectively as part of a team when building, constructing or undertaking repairs within the attractions, but equally be able to work alone when required.
  • To take a pro-active maintenance approach to all areas of equipment and reacting quickly when in operation.
  • To offer specialist advice, knowledge and assistance with all aspects of maze construction, maintenance and operation in your field of lighting/sound/AV/scenic.
  • To work closely with our actors and hosts to ensure that shutdowns are rectified swiftly and safely.
  • To deliver safe working environments for both actors and guests, always pushing standards where possible.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Training within Production arts o Real life working experience within the industry
  • Hands on experience in Lighting technology, programming and rigging.
  • Hands on experience with Audio technology, programming and rigging
  • Ability to live mix audio levels on a sound desk
  • Hands on experience with special effects and pyrotechnics
  • Good knowledge of entertainment industry technical systems including lighting, audio, video, rigging, show control, scenic and set dressing
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as a team, we are all striving towards the same goal and are all responsible
  • Working knowledge of BS7909 and BS7671 and entertainment industry electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge and experience in LOLER, PUWER, EAWR, HASAWA and other H&S legislation.
  • Ability to assist in the design and programming, carry out troubleshooting of highly specified safety legislation with the support of the technical management team.
  • Working knowledge of ethernet/network based systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of one or more of the following systems – Qsys, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, Vista, Avolites, Pharos, Hippotizer, 7th Sense, Digico/Yamaha/Allen and Heath Mixing Desks.
  • Physically capable of manual labour and happy to work outdoor/in all weather conditions/environments.

This role is a full-time role, averaging 40 hours per week. Although this is largely a Monday-Friday role, due to the nature of the business this will include weekends, bank holidays and some late evenings as required.

Pay Range
