Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety-critical software for autonomous flight systems. You will run simulations, verify algorithms, and perform flight tests at our Bedfordshire facility, contributing to requirements and documentation.

The role involves working in a multidisciplinary team, improving processes and ensuring quality targets are met, with National Security Vetting clearance required for the position.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience designing and commissioning control systems.
• Experience with embedded, real-time, safety-critical systems.
• Knowledge of DO-178/ED-20x standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for flight control systems.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight testing.
• Contribute to requirements definition and documentation/reporting.
• Support process improvement and calibration of SOPs within a multidisciplinary team.
