Job summary

Saab UK in Bedfordshire seeks a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for our autonomous aircraft flight systems. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to generate control laws and data algorithms, then deploy to target hardware and perform real-world flight testing near the office.

You will contribute to requirements, improve processes, and present results. National security vetting is required, with career growth across Saab's autonomy platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics.
• Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.
• Desirable: GN&C algorithms for fixed/rotary wing systems.
• Knowledge of sensing systems and state estimation.
• Experience with small UAS, version control (git).
• C++, Java, Python development experience.
• Knowledge of DO-178/ED-20x software standards.

Responsibilities
