Job summary

Saab UK is recruiting a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and maintain safety-critical software for aircraft flight control systems. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to create control laws and data processing algorithms, verify via bespoke simulations and deploy to hardware for real-world flight tests.

Based in Bedfordshire, the role requires strong communication and teamwork, and national security vetting to SC level.

Qualifications

Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics, and their impact on flight control.
Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
Existing SC Clearance.
Desirable: Experience designing and implementing guidance, navigation and control algorithms for fixed and/or rotary wing vehicles.

Responsibilities

Develop and test safety-critical software for flight control systems.
Use MATLAB/Simulink to generate flight control laws and data manipulation algorithms.
Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight tests.
Present findings in reports or customer-facing presentations.
