Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety critical software for autonomous flight systems at our Bedford facility. You will work on flight management, autopilots, mission systems and ground control interfaces, with hands-on testing and real-world flight trials close to the office.

The role requires a degree in aerospace engineering, MATLAB/Simulink expertise, and SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
• Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety critical software for flight systems.
• Deploy software onto target hardware and conduct real world flight testing.
• Contribute to requirements definition and verification/validation activities.
• Prepare reports and presentations of testing findings.
