Job summary

Saab UK in Bedfordshire is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and maintain safety-critical software for autonomous flight systems. You will use MATLAB/Simulink to create flight control laws and data algorithms, verify with bespoke simulations and deploy on hardware with real-world flight testing near our facility.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety critical flight control software for aircraft systems.
• Verify algorithms via bespoke simulations and deploy software to target hardware.
• Conduct real world flight testing and present findings in reports or customer presentations.
