Description
We are currently looking for a Tech with a difference!
You will have previous experience in diagnosing and finding solutions to component level faults on the vast array of modern vehicles, as well as a thorough understanding of modern communication protocols such as CAN/LIN/FlexRay, etc.
You will also be fully competent in understanding and interpreting live data streams, programming and coding modules on-site and on the bench. We only use dealer tools on site, maybe very different from what you are used to using, but full training will be given on the use of each tool.
You will need a current passport. Travel out of the country is quite rare, but not unheard of. You may be needed to assist another employee. Work of this nature is usually a maximum of 2 nights for which all travel and accommodation will be paid for along with a generous away from home daily allowance.
It would be highly desirable if you have a solid grounding and knowledge of hex code and pulling information from often encrypted eeprom and flash dumps. Having a keen eye for detail and being pretty good at mathematics helps a lot here.
A1 soldering skills are needed, as most of our work is usually on a SMD level.
It would also be an advantage if you are fully WinOLS competent and are able to understand ECU maps for the tuning side of the business.
Qualifications aren't that vital, but at least be able to spell your own name though. That said, we would rather you have had many years in the auto electrical industry with a few qualifications, especially in EV, and also a keen interest in making the impossible possible.
We are a friendly company where each person is a team player and a cog in the wheel that makes this thing work, so your ability to communicate with customers and team members is vital.
You will also need a full GB or EU driving licence and your own small/medium sized van, no older than 5 years.
You will need to be fluent in the English language.
