Job description

This medical therapeutic technology company utilises patient cells for bespoke treatments. A key facet of their technology is the fidelity to process cells autonomously so that multiple cellular treatments can be performed concurrently without any issues of cross-contamination or mislabelling. To do this, they implement highly precise tools which need to be optimised. As part of their Cell Processing Team, the Automation Cell Scientist will work collaboratively with other scientists and engineers to enable this high-throughput workflow and supporting quality management of the system. This is a hands‑on role that will involve routine experiments for testing.

Requirements:

  • A degree in biology, biochemistry or similar (ideally a Master’s), with industry experience working with clinical cell samples.
  • Experience with aseptic techniques for cell culturing including media and reagents.
  • Experience working with primary cells and cell lines under BSL-2 practices, as well as ability to follow SOPs and established protocols.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Exposure to flow cytometry, PCR assays, cryopreservation, cell staining would be desirable.

Due to the nature of the work, the role is based fully onsite in their bespoke lab space and offices, with parking available. Note, the company are unable to sponsor candidates or consider applicants on restricted work visas.

On offer is an excellent remunerations package including a wide range of benefits including enhanced employer pension contributions, private medical and annual bonus.
