Job summary

Halfords Group PLC in Inverness is launching an Autocentre Apprentice Auto Vehicle Technician programme. You will gain practical workshop experience and college study, learning to service, inspect and diagnose a wide range of vehicles.

The course covers safety, engineering skills, vehicle inspection and servicing, engine and electrical diagnostics. GCSEs in Maths and English are required; strong problem-solving and teamwork are expected. 40 hours per week (44 for those over 18) with day release.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents).
• Very key to this role is a friendly, helpful, team-orientated person with a strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Enjoys working and fixing problems with cars.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Learn workplace safety and engineering skills.
• Inspect and service vehicles.
• Maintain and diagnose faults in engines, chassis and electrical systems.
• Work independently but also as part of a team in a busy Autocentre.
