Job summary

Halfords Autocentres offers an apprentice programme where you gain hands-on experience across servicing, inspections and diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles. You’ll learn workplace safety, engineering skills and how to diagnose and repair faults to high standards.

The programme includes one day per week at college, later progressing to more complex tasks while you develop practical and theoretical knowledge for a successful automotive career.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents).
• Friendly, team‑oriented person with a strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Interest in cars and solving problems.
• Able to use hands and have a strong and fit attitude to work due to the manual work involved.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle servicing, inspections and repairs under supervision.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic methods and equipment.
• Work on engines, chassis and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with colleagues to learn workshop processes and apply safety standards.
