Job description

Audit Senior – Newbury & Swindon

As an Audit Senior, you'll take ownership of your own portfolio of assignments, leading audits from planning through to completion while working closely with Managers and Partners. You'll be the main point of contact for clients during fieldwork, and you'll also play an important role in supporting and developing junior members of the team. Depending on the office, you'll also gain exposure to accounts preparation, giving you a well‑rounded technical skillset and opening up broader career opportunities within the practice.

• Leading audit engagements for a diverse range of SME and mid‑market clients.
• Managing the full audit cycle: planning, fieldwork, testing, and completion.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing constructive feedback.
• Ensuring audit files meet internal and regulatory quality standards.
• Working directly with clients, maintaining positive and professional relationships.

Accounts (varies by office)

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
• Assisting with management accounts, year‑end adjustments, and reconciliations.
• Liaising with the tax team to support basic tax computation work.

Team & Client Support

• Acting as a reliable and approachable mentor to trainees and part‑qualified staff.
• Identifying process improvements and opportunities to add value for clients.
• Ensuring deadlines are consistently met and work is delivered to a high standard.
