Choice provides high-quality, affordable, sustainable homes and creates neighbourhoods where people are proud to live. With assets under management approaching £1 billion and annual revenue of £100 million, Choice is committed to making a significant impact on communities.

Governance

Choice is renowned for the calibre of its Board and Committee Members and for embedding the highest standards of accountability, integrity, and probity. The main board has 4 standing committees – Audit & Risk, Development & Growth, Tenant & Client Services and Finance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a committee member for the Audit & Risk committee with legal expertise to provide assurance on relevant risk identification and management and to inform the organisation’s legal risk appetite. This appointment will strengthen the Committee’s ability to foresee, quantify and mitigate legal and regulatory risk to protect our tenants, their communities, our partners and the Choice Group.

The role requires:

  • A qualified solicitor or barrister with demonstrable experience in contracts, regulatory compliance, and procurement within complex organisations.
  • Board-level risk oversight capability, including risk-appetite setting, internal controls and incident response governance.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an organisation with the ambition, scale, and resources of Choice. The role will appeal to individuals who recognise the vital contribution that quality social and affordable housing makes to society.

Board appointments are non-remunerated and require a commitment to attend approximately six meetings per annum.
