Job description

The Commercial team in Cambridge manages cross‑sector services for a large range of clients – from small dynamic businesses to large listed companies. This role will work within the Private Capital team.

Responsibilities
  • Make quality second nature – uphold high‑level standards and ensure quality in all audit work.
  • Own your work – oversee audit teams, act as the key point of contact to clients, assist audit partners in establishing audit approaches, review audit work papers, and ensure audit files are completed on time.
  • Work as part of a dynamic commercial audit team in Leeds and lead a group of employees to meet audit objectives.
  • Take responsibility – act as a trusted business adviser, manage a significant portfolio of audit clients, and build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Build your brand – take on wider department responsibilities such as pitching for new work, recruitment, and people management, and develop yourself and others.
  • Manage a large portfolio of audit clients.
  • Solve complex technical matters for clients and project‑manage client work.
  • Oversee and develop your team to the highest standard.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with your team and our clients.
  • Seek opportunities for wider department responsibilities through training and pitching new projects.
  • Constantly strive to push yourself and the business further, knowing you are supported at every stage.
Qualifications

The minimum criteria: a professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA) with post‑qualification experience and confidence in managing a large portfolio of audit clients.

  • Experience managing audits of a range of commercial companies, including private equity‑backed, large listed, and international groups.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to solve complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities.
  • Leadership experience – overseeing and developing a team.
  • Adaptability and a proactive, curious mindset.
