What you’ll do:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit and accounts assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
  • Review statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP and FRS 102 standards, providing robust technical guidance to ensure accuracy and compliance at every stage.
  • Manage, coach, and develop junior team members by overseeing workflow allocation, supporting their technical growth, and conducting performance discussions.
  • Take responsibility for billing processes, work‑in‑progress management, and budget oversight across your assigned client portfolio.
  • Support team wellbeing by thoughtfully resourcing projects and managing day‑to‑day people matters with empathy and care.
  • Deliver value‑adding advice to clients by identifying opportunities for process improvement or supporting their strategic objectives through insightful recommendations.
  • Play an active role in business development by spotting new opportunities within your portfolio and contributing to proposal preparation.
  • Contribute to operational success by participating in firm‑wide initiatives aimed at driving efficiency, consistency, and innovative practices.
  • Build your own client portfolio while developing your business case towards future Responsible Individual (RI) status within the firm.
What you bring:
  • ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) qualification demonstrating strong technical foundation in audit principles.
  • Proven experience delivering audits across a broad spectrum of clients including SMEs, corporates, not‑for‑profits or similar environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102) as well as familiarity with IFRS standards.
  • Demonstrable experience managing audits end‑to‑end‑from planning through completion—with sound judgement throughout.
  • Awareness of corporate tax matters as well as personal tax or indirect tax considerations relevant to client portfolios.
  • Leadership skills evidenced by previous supervisory responsibilities over junior staff or teams within an audit function.
  • Ability to manage sizeable client portfolios effectively while prioritising competing demands with sensitivity.
  • Excellent relationship‑building abilities enabling you to foster trust with clients as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications alongside experience using audit‑related technologies
