What you’ll do

As an Audit and Accounts Manager based in London, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding audit services to a wide variety of clients.

  • Deliver high-quality audit and assurance services to a broad range of clients across multiple sectors, ensuring all work meets rigorous technical standards.
  • Manage client relationships by acting as the main point of contact for their audit needs, providing guidance and support throughout each engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with senior managers and partners to oversee audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Conduct detailed file reviews on various audit clients using your technical expertise to maintain quality standards within the department.
  • Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities for growth and assisting in winning new work for the firm.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development through knowledge sharing and constructive feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with current auditing and accounting issues as well as relevant standards such as UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, and ISAs.
  • Utilise advanced software tools including Microsoft Office packages; familiarity with CCH, Audit Automation, Cortax, Inflo, SAP, Xero, Sage & Quickbooks is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in managing workloads under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail during busy periods.
  • Contribute positively to the team's inclusive culture by participating in regular training sessions, social events, and supporting colleagues as needed.

  • Qualified accountant with several years post-qualification experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Proven experience as a manager in practice with responsibility for delivering audits independently or as part of a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current auditing issues along with up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, ISAs and related standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build rapport with clients while managing their expectations throughout the audit process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities essential for liaising with clients at all levels as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; additional experience with CCH, Audit Automation, Cortax, Inflo, SAP, Xero, Sage & Quickbooks is highly desirable.
  • Good all-round tax knowledge including corporation tax; familiarity with trusts or charity accounting would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities flexibly under pressure without compromising quality or accuracy of work delivered.
  • A collaborative approach that supports team success through mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing positively to group initiatives.
