A public healthcare organization in Bolton is seeking an Associate Practitioner for the Cellular Pathology Department. The candidate will manage histopathology tissue specimens, assist with dissections, and ensure compliance with quality standards. We have two vacancies for Associate Practitioner posts available for candidates with relevant experience in Histopathology to work within the Cellular Pathology Department at Royal Bolton Hospital. The successful candidates will form part of a team which prides itself on consistently meeting the RCPath turn around time targets. The post holder will rotate throughout the department and will be actively involved in assisting dissections as well as undertaking embedding, microtomy and special stains.

This role will involve the routine processing of histopathology tissue specimens andnon-gynae samples. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain all protocols within the department, in line with ISO 15189 standards. You will work as part of a team of highly dedicated scientific and ancillary staff to ensure the quality of all tests performed using internal and external quality schemes. You will perform specialist automated and manual tests throughout the department and be involved in auditing processes, reagent control, and maintenance of equipment. You will rotate through all sections of the department including microtomy, embedding and special stains and will be actively involved in assisting dissection/specimen reception and performing non-gynae cytology sample preparation techniques.
