A major health organization in the UK is seeking Associate Practitioners for a full-time role in Cardiff. Responsibilities include working in the extraction and PCR sections within a technical team. Ideal candidates will be comfortable in a fast-paced setting and the ability to speak Welsh is a plus. The position offers a salary range starting at £27,898, with opportunities for progression.
Associate Practitioners are invited to join the All Wales Medical Genomics Service on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The post is based at Canolfan Iechyd Genomig Cymru in Cardiff. The post holder will work within the technical team in the extraction, PCR, fragment sizing or NGS sections, and will operate in a fast-paced environment alongside Medical Technical Officers and Genetic Technologists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The pay progression steps for these posts, as a Band 4, begin at £27,898 and rise to approximately £30,615. The expectation is that all staff will meet the required standards and progress on their pay step date.
The All Wales Medical Genetics Service (AWMGS) provides a comprehensive clinical genetics and laboratory service to the 3 million residents of Wales.
AWMGS is a major stakeholder in the Welsh Government’s plan to create a sustainable, internationally competitive environment for genetics and genomics. In July 2017, investment supported the Genomics for Precision Medicine Strategy to develop a service that is innovative, responsive and well-connected to major genetics and genomics initiatives evolving worldwide.
