About the Role

Fundamentals analyst covering global power markets

You Will
  • Maintain power demand outlooks for major countries and regions globally
  • Deliver power generation outlooks by technology for major countries and regions globally
  • Produce high quality price forecasts for power markets globally
  • Maintain models to show and forecast key relationships within the power sector (eg. coal-gas competition)
  • Have a strong knowledge of the power sector power markets around the world and their regulatory environment. You’ll maintain supporting deliverables as appropriate (eg. regulatory summaries databases etc).
  • Maintain and / or contribute to monthly and weekly metallurgical coal deliverables as well as leading bespoke consulting engagements.
  • Work closely with analysts from other related commodities (eg. coal gas renewables carbon hydrogen)
  • Be a thought leader in global power markets maintaining views on key power market development (eg. the evolving Energy Transition regulatory changes reliability etc).
  • Be a skilled presenter doing everything from conference presentations to client presentations
  • Work with sales on developing and pursuing leads and aiding retention
You Have
  • Significant demonstrable experience in the power / electricity industries and / or markets.
  • Strong quantitative skills (strong MS Excel and VBA knowledge of Python and Power BI advantageous)
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present to a high standard.
  • Ability to lead others this role will likely involve managing junior staff
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone
  • Bachelors degree (in a quantitative discipline preferred)
