Job summary

A construction recruitment agency is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to assist in the running of construction projects across the North East. The role requires strong management and communication skills to effectively manage direct labour and sub-contractor resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Applicants need experience in new build projects, essential qualifications including CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid, with a salary ranging from £30,000 to £40,000. This is a permanent position.

  • Assist in producing construction phase plans.
  • Co-ordination of various sub-contractors.
  • Progress reports and meetings with senior management.
  • Ordering materials for site and managing supply chain.
  • Daily site diaries & briefings.

Job description

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Site Manager on behalf of an established main construction contractor to assist in the running of projects across the North East.

Applicants will need to show a track record of excellent management and communication skills with the ability to proactively manage construction projects, including direct labour and sub‑contractor resource and the ability to deliver quality construction projects within budget and programme timescales in a safe environment.

This company works as principal contractor on projects including: Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, etc. This particular requirement would be suited to someone with previous New Build project experience.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Site Manager to manage site team and supply chain to deliver projects to quality targets and deadlines.
  • Assist in producing construction phase plans and programming works.
  • Co‑ordination of various sub‑contractors and direct delivery teams.
  • Progress reports and meetings with senior management and clients.
  • Ordering materials for site and managing supply chain.
  • Daily site diaries & briefings.
Experience required
  • Experience managing construction projects covering new build & refurbishment with values of £500k+.
  • Ability to manage project costs and on the ground delivery at all stages.
  • Qualifications: CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid are essential.
  • Degree or HNC/HND qualification is beneficial.
Remuneration

A salary ranging from £30,000 to £40,000 (dependent upon experience) plus package.
