Overview

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our dedicated safeguarding and wellbeing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and compassionate professional who is passionate about the safety, welfare and wellbeing of young people.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring that students receive timely and effective support.
  • Work closely with staff, students, parents and external agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and school policies.
  • Deliver safeguarding training and guidance to colleagues across the school.
  • Contribute to the wider pastoral and inclusion work of the school.
The ideal candidate will have
  • Experience of working with children or young people in an educational, social care or safeguarding role.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance (KCSIE).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and manage sensitive situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A genuine commitment to promoting the welfare and wellbeing of students.
