Assistant Psychologist – CAMHS WEST ICA

We’re seeking a motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our CAMHS Multi‑Disciplinary Team. You will support clinical staff and deliver psychological interventions that help young people and families achieve positive mental health outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support individual and group interventions.
  • Carry out psychological assessments and wellbeing checks to ensure young people feel safe and supported.
  • Collaborate with the MDT, providing formulations and staff support.
  • Coordinate and analyse outcome measures to track progress.
  • Contribute to audits and research shaping evidence‑based practice.
  • Work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist with great development opportunities.
Travel

Work across two CAMHS sites (travel expenses reimbursed).

Qualifications – Essential
  • Psychology degree accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties.
Qualifications – Desirable
  • Experience of carrying out basic psychometric tests (e.g. cognitive screens).
  • Experience working as an Assistant Psychologist or in a similar role.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skills and Aptitude – Essential
  • Capacity to communicate condition‑related information to clients and relatives in an emotionally charged environment.
