Job summary

Halfords is seeking an Assistant Manager to work with the Centre Manager, balancing hands-on workshop duties with daily sales and customer service. You’ll drive profitability by leading the team, ensuring top customer experiences, and maintaining workshop standards in a busy Autocentre environment.

Applicants should have strong technical knowledge, coaching experience, and a valid driving licence. A Level 2/3 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.
• Bring your own set of tools and put them to great use in a busy workshop.
• Experience of maintaining compliance with Health & Safety standards.

• Assist the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service, and supervise technicians.
• Drive profitability by focusing on the customers journey and workshop efficiency.
• Lead and develop staff to deliver high standards of service and workmanship.
