Job summary

A water utilities contractor seeks an Assistant Leakage Detection Engineer in Derry/Londonderry. As part of a team, you will assist in detecting leaks using various methods and equipment in public and private water networks. This role involves outdoor work and offers a pathway to becoming a fully qualified leak detection engineer. Candidates should have strong communication and numeracy skills, a clean driving license, and the ability to work safely in confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Ability to cope with the physical nature of the role including entry into confined spaces.
  • Hold a full current valid clean driving license.
  • Previous experience of construction site work or equivalent outdoor work.

Responsibilities

  • Detect leakage using various leak detection methods.
  • Use acoustic sounding equipment and technologies.
  • Carry out valve operations on the water network.
  • Perform water pressure checks and install pressure logging equipment.
  • Check flow data and install loggers on flow meters.
  • Identify and resolve customer side leakage.
  • Deploy, collect, and analyze acoustic and hydro loggers.

Job description

As an Assistant Leakage Detection Engineer, you will work alongside experienced Leakage Engineers assisting in detecting leaks within both public and private water networks. You will be working outdoors and will be required to carry out a full range of leak detection activities on behalf of our client. This role will progress to a fully qualified leak detection engineer and provide a pathway into the water industry.

Responsibilities
  • Detection of leakage using various leak detection methods
  • Use of acoustic sounding equipment and technologies
  • Carryout valve operations on the water network
  • Carryout water pressure checks and installing pressure logging equipment
  • Checking flow data and installing loggers on flow meters
  • Identifying and resolution of customer side leakage
  • Deployment, collection and analysis of acoustic and hydro loggers
Skills and Qualifications
