Assistant Garden Centre Manager | Berkshire
Salary: £30,000- £33,000

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll be the right hand to the Centre Manager, helping to oversee all aspects of the store. You'll be involved in everything from shaping the commercial plan and creating stunning displays, to managing stock levels and developing your team. It's a hands-on role where you'll lead from the shop floor, making sure customers leave inspired and satisfied.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Centre Manager in the day-to-day running of the site

  • Inspiring and motivating the team to deliver outstanding service and achieve sales targets

  • Keeping product areas well-stocked, immaculate, and seasonally on-point

  • Managing stock ordering, supplier relationships, and stock control to ensure great availability and minimal waste

  • Recruiting, coaching, and nurturing staff to help them reach their potential

  • Ensuring health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards are consistently high

What We're Looking For
  • Solid retail management experience - ideally in garden centres, horticulture, or lifestyle retail

  • A strong commercial eye with the ability to spot opportunities and act on them

  • Great leadership skills, able to get the best from people and build a positive culture
