A leading consultancy firm located in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Financial Controller. You will oversee financial operations, manage the accounts team, and provide strategic insights for growth. Ideal candidates will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, with strong financial control expertise and excellent communication skills. A leading UK-wide niche consultancy group based in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the business at a pivotal stage of its expansion. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of a growing organisation.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and Group Finance Director you will have full commercial exposure across the group and be instrumental in driving growth. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place. Identify, evaluate, and implement improvements where necessary.
Team Management: Take full responsibility for the accounts team, including assigning duties based on individual skill sets and managing the Accounts Payable division to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, timely updates to senior stakeholders on current financial performance and future projections.
Strategic Input: Present financial insights to internal and external parties, influencing key commercial decisions and supporting the organisation’s growth strategy.
Ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, with proven experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
Strong understanding of financial controls and process improvement.
Exposure to multi-site SME organisations is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
