Job summary

A financial services firm in Greater London is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Accounts team. The successful candidate will oversee a small team while being responsible for recording invoices, processing receipts, ensuring supplier payments, and conducting reconciliations. Ideal applicants should have a strong background in transactional accounting, supervisory experience, and good IT skills, with an AAT qualification being an advantage. The position offers good development potential and benefits including holiday allowances and a health cash plan.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a small team, providing mentoring and development.
  • Record supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments.
  • Post customer receipts and allocate correctly.
  • Process daily credit card and other departmental receipts.
  • Ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile stocks and funds.
  • Assist Management Accountant with month-end close.

Our client is undergoing considerable change and are recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join their busy Finance Accounts team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with a Management Accountant, you will have responsibility for :

  • Overseeing small team and provide mentoring and development
  • Record supplier invoices, credit notes and payments
  • Post customer receipts and allocate correctly
  • Processing daily credit card and other departmental receipts
  • Ensure timely supplier payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of stocks and funds
  • Assisting Management Accountant with month end close
Qualifications

A good background of transactional accounting and supervisory experience would be essential, together with good IT skills (Excel and accounting software). AAT part or fully qualified an advantage but not essential.
