Who we are looking for:

Unistrut is looking for an Assembly Operative to support our continued growth.

What you’ll do:
  • Complete assembly of component parts - hand assembly and bagging operations working to standard times for each job
  • Ensure ‘first off’ is authorised prior to completion of the job
  • Continuous quality checking of components whilst completing jobs
  • Operate automated and/or manual assembly equipment
  • Machine operation and maintenance of equipment used within the Assembly Department e.g. bagging machine (including setting of the machine), band saw, manual press etc.
  • Maintain the visual management system for own jobs whilst working
  • Visually inspect components meet quality standards
  • Assemble Flexicon Special Orders (FSOs), this includes measuring and cutting conduit, completing the required documentation and following the FSO assembly plan
  • Ensure components are assembled within agreed timescales
  • Follow all appropriate standard operating procedures
  • Produce samples for customers
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard within own work area and the Department generally
  • Take part in 5S activities (Sort, Set in order, Shine/Clean, Standardise and Sustain)
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements and risk assessments
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the task in-hand
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Any other duties of a similar nature as directed by your line manager.

  • Experience of working in industrial manufacturing is essential

Salary:

£12.21 per hour

Hours of Work:

39 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm
