Get to know your team and responsibilities

The Vehicle Production Assembly Engineering function is responsible for new vehicle related equipment introductions. They hold responsibility for the full process cycle, from initial feasibility study by simultaneous engineering, through equipment concepts, specifications, procurement, installation and commissioning activity to final trial confirmation and handover to mass production.

Your responsibilities

You will contribute to the realisation of Toyota Motor Europe’s vehicles & mobility projects by delivering the Assembly production lines of the future. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities including:

  • Project planning and management, mainly development of production equipment specifications, through to implementation and handover.
  • Production feasibility and layout studies, investment planning and budget management.
  • Gain consensus of proposals and concepts with fact-based decision making through stakeholder collaboration.
  • Specify equipment based on vehicle, plant and production requirements, in line with local regulations, and Toyota Machinery standards.
  • Equipment sourcing, supplier management, buy off, installation and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and productivity requirements throughout all phases.
  • Progress monitoring and reporting to relevant business entities.
  • Local trial co‑coordination, on line production performance evaluation with collection and analysis of data, followed by subsequent reporting thereof.
  • Commissioning and problem‑solving during trial phases and start of production support.
  • Develop and improve existing systems, procedures and incorporation of new technology, to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Who are we looking for?
Your profile
  • The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 3 years experience within an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably assembly (OEM, Tier 1,2 levels etc) with a strong mechanical / electrical engineering background.
  • The ability to provide effective communication at all levels and across function groups with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • The successful candidate will embrace the mandatory requirement to travel and work in other engineering branch offices within Europe according to project / business need, including occasional weekends as required.
  • Can demonstrate creative thinking to solve complex issues / problems.
  • The ability to work within an effective team or individually.
  • Can use 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Catia V5.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • You are fluent in English (native or C2 level).
