Job summary

An aviation service provider based in the UK is seeking Assembly Mechanics for a contract position at Bournemouth Airport. The role requires relevant experience in mechanical assembly and testing, along with knowledge of precision assembly and mechanical components. Job description

My Bournemouth based client is now seeking Assembly Mechanics to join them on a contract basis.

Please note that SOME relevant experience in mechanical assembly & testing is ESSENTIAL.

Role : Assembly Mechanic

Hours : Monday - Friday, 06.30am-15.00pm on site (37 hours per week)

Salary :

  • £18.41 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay (apprenticeship served)
  • £18.07 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay (without an apprenticeship)

Location : Bournemouth Airport

Candidates must hold either a UK or NATO country passport to be eligible to work on this site.

A drug screening is required on all successful candidates prior to starting the assignment.

Assembly Mechanics will assemble, maintain and test a variety of Mechanical, Pneumatic, Heat Transfer, Electronic, Air Turbines and Electro-mechanical aircraft components in accordance with FAA, EASA & Repair Station regulations.

This also includes all aspects of the repair process including : Diagnostic fault finding, strip, initial inspection, parts call up, build & testing of the final units.

Key Responsibilities :

Interpret Component Maintenance Manuals Service Bulletins & other Technical data approved by the regulator required to perform the Repair & Overhaul duties.

Perform a preliminary inspection of the unit to include a diagnostic test, disassembly, cleaning & component inspection.

Determine the material required to Overhaul / Repair

Repair / Overhaul & assemble the unit in accordance with approved technical data.

Perform final test of the unit in accordance with approved data to determine eligibility for return to service

Prioritise & process units in order to meet customer due dates.

Process units in accordance with the Quality Management System. & Repair Station Manual & MOE.

Required experience and qualifications :

Previous experience of precision assembly work and testing.

Mechanical workshop experience together with some electrical experience.

A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship is desirable but not essential
