Majestic Wines Derby is recruiting a dynamic Trainee Manager to join our team. You will embark on a 12-month development programme designed to give you a detailed understanding of operations, service standards, and leadership pathways to becoming a Store Manager.

You will work through a structured career pathway with support from your Store Manager, gaining hands-on experience in sales, customer service, stock, and day-to-day store operations, while pursuing WSET qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills under pressure.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive can-do attitude with determination to see problems through to solutions.
• Adaptable and resilient to changing business needs.
• Excellent communication and time management abilities.
• Wine knowledge is a plus and willingness to learn Level 2/3 WSET qualifications.
• Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with up to 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and improving KPI performance.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Offer a VIP concierge service, proactively contacting customers with updates and tastings.
• Sell the story through in-depth product knowledge, tastings, and engaging displays.
• Develop wine knowledge further to support WSET qualifications and confident selling.
• Maintain the store’s appearance, merchandising, and general upkeep.
• Support day-to-day operations including deliveries, stock handling, and customer outreach.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and comply with internal policies and training.
