Job summary

Majestic Wine Nottingham is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager to join a 12-month development programme, gaining hands-on experience in operations, service and leadership to prepare for Store Manager roles.

You will work across responsibilities from driving store performance to delivering outstanding customer service, learning product knowledge, and supporting day-to-day store tasks while being mentored by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environments.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Problem solving with a strategic mindset under pressure.
• Self-motivated, able to work alone or in a team.
• Proactive, solution-focused attitude.
• Adaptable and resilient to changing demands.
• Excellent communication and time management.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial; willingness to pursue WSET Level 2/3.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximizing sales opportunities and improving KPI metrics.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to build loyalty and repeat business.
• Engage customers with product knowledge and tastings; promote a premium service.
• Promote and sell the story behind products through tasting events and counter presentation.
• Develop wine knowledge and pursue WSET qualifications.
• Maintain and present an attractive store appearance and merchandising.
• Support day-to-day operations, including stock deliveries and customer calls.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and compliance with policies.
