Job description

Our client is a nationally recognised and UKAS accredited asbestos company delivering professional asbestos services to clients across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an experienced and multi-skilled Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst/Consultant based in the Derby area. The ideal applicant will hold the P402/3/4 certificates and will be experienced in carrying out asbestos surveying and analytical duties on commercial, and industrial and residential areas as well as experience in providing constancy advice and overseeing staff. Applications from Loughborough, Mansfield, Leicester and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & Experience

• Will hold the P402/P403/P404 asbestos certificate or the equivalent RSPH qualification. Although consideration will be given to P402 or P403/4 qualified site staff.
• Experience of working in this role within the asbestos industry.
• Excellent communication skills essential – both written and verbal.
• A good working knowledge of asbestos Health & Safety procedures/legislation.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office competency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising Asbestos Surveyors, Asbestos Site Analysts, Asbestos Lab Analysts and office staff.
• Ensure the smooth running of the operational side of the business.
• Training and auditing of staff.
• Undertake asbestos 4 stage clearances, smoke, background, leak reassurance, visual, re-occupation and personal air testing.
• Carrying out Management, Refurbishment/Demolition surveys on various properties including commercial and industrial.
• Supervising asbestos contractors on site ensuring full compliance with asbestos health and safety procedures.
• Collating and producing accurate and comprehensive asbestos reports.
• Building and maintaining a professional working relationship with the company’s large portfolio of clients.
• Allocation of work.
• Meeting goals and targets.
• Writing tender specifications and evaluating tenders submitted.
• Attending meetings when required.

Overall, the ideal candidate will have an excellent work ethic as well as technical experience and knowledge. Prospective candidates must be prepared to travel as per the clients requirements.
