Job description

We are seeking a creative, organised and enthusiastic Art Technician to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within our Art and Photography Department.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will play a vital role in preparing resources, maintaining specialist equipment, supporting students and showcasing their work through displays and exhibitions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about Art and creativity, who enjoys working in a school environment and making a real difference to young people’s learning.

Location: Bridgwater College Academy
Salary: Band 4, points 5 to 6, starting at point 5. Actual starting salary: £21,812.05 per annum
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, organise and maintain materials, tools and equipment for Art lessons
  • Support teaching staff and students during lessons, including assisting with small group activities
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised Art environment in line with Health & Safety requirements
  • Manage stock levels, order consumables and maintain an inventory of resources
  • Create and prepare resources to support teaching and learning
  • Update classroom and Academy displays and support exhibitions and creative events
We are looking for someone who has
  • At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C / Grade 4 or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
