Overview

Architect Design Manager - Portsmouth

Permanent, full-time position - £55k-£60k plus bonus plus package.

My client is seeking an Architectural Design Manager to join their specialist team to deliver a wide range of confirmed projects over a 10 year framework. This is a permanent appointment due to planned growth within the team.

Reporting to the Head of Design, you will be responsible for the management of the design process from concept and feasibility stage up to RIBA Stage 2 prior to external design consultants carrying out detailed design. There are a range of new build and major refurbishment works already planned and confirmed across the building and construction department.

Responsibilities

• Management of projects at concept and feasibility stage, creation of statement of works based on design requirements.
• Undertaking site and external consultant meetings to ensure collaboration and management of programme.
• Experience of carrying out architectural design of buildings in a variety of structural forms and materials.
• Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design process.
• Experience in leading and managing projects.

Qualifications

We are seeking Architects who hold a Degree in a relevant engineering field, and whilst not required, chartered status would be beneficial.

You will be responsible for taking the initial concept of building / construction projects and creating the scope of works that will be issued to Main Contractors and Design Consultancies to tender against. The majority of your time will be meeting with internal and external stakeholders, establishing what is possible within forthcoming building programmes to ensure there is a clear vision and project brief.

Whilst you will come from an architectural background and have experience in the design of building and construction projects, you will be working within a multi-specialist team (mechanical, electrical, civil bias) and required to operate across the disciplines.
